House cleaning is a set list of rooms and jobs done to the same standard every visit. Kitchen counters and appliance fronts, bathrooms top to bottom, floors vacuumed and washed, dusting, trash out, and beds made when you ask for it.

Most people book it as a repeating visit, weekly, every other week or monthly, in a slot that stays the same. We work Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday morning.

What is included in a regular house clean?

The same list, every time, so you always know what you are paying for. In the kitchen we clear and wipe the counters, the outside of the appliances, the stovetop and the sink, and we wash the floor. In the bathrooms we do the toilet, the sink, the tub or shower, the mirror and the floor.

Through the rest of the house we dust, vacuum, wash hard floors, and put back what is out of place. Beds, inside the oven, inside the fridge and inside windows are add ons you choose, because not everybody wants them and nobody should pay for what they did not ask for.

How often should a house be cleaned?

It depends on how many people and how many feet come through it. A working couple in a two bedroom usually finds every other week is plenty. A family with young kids, pets, or a busy kitchen usually wants weekly, because two weeks is long enough for the bathrooms and the kitchen floor to get away from you.

A quiet house, or one where somebody is already doing the daily tidying, often runs fine on a monthly visit. Start with the one you think you need. It is easy to move up or down once you have seen how the house holds.

What does recurring house cleaning actually change?

It changes what the visit is for. On a one time clean we are undoing months of build up, so most of the hours go into catching up. On a repeating visit the house never gets that far behind, so the same hours go into doing every room properly instead of rescuing two of them.

That is why a regular clean tends to feel like more house for the same visit, and why the second and third visits usually run smoother than the first.

Who will be in my home?

We agree how we get in before the first visit, whether that is you being there, a key, a lockbox or a garage code, and we write it down. We are insured, which is the thing worth asking any cleaner who works in your house while you are out.

Do I have to be home for the cleaning?

No, and most of our repeating customers are not. The point of a fixed slot is that it happens whether or not your day cooperates. If you want to be in for the first visit so you can walk the rooms with us and say what matters to you, that is the best use of an hour you will get, because after that we are working from your list and not from a guess.

What does not get done in a standard clean

We say this up front so nothing is a surprise. A standard visit is not a deep clean, so it does not include scrubbing grout, taking hard water stains off a shower door, cleaning inside cabinets, or washing walls. It is not a clear out either.

We do not haul away furniture, appliances or bags of trash, because the transfer stations around here are set up for residents and not for a cleaner's van. If a property is empty and being handed over, that is move in and move out cleaning, which is a different job with a different list.

How long does a house clean take?

Room count and bathroom count drive it more than square footage does. A one bedroom apartment is a short visit. A four bedroom house with two and a half bathrooms is most of a morning, and a first visit on that house takes longer than the fifth one will.

We give you the time along with the price before we book, and if we get it wrong we tell you instead of rushing the last room.
