What is included in a move out cleaning?

The whole property, empty, with the doors of everything open. Kitchen cabinets and drawers inside and out, inside the oven and under the burners, inside and behind the fridge, the range hood, the sink and the counters.

Bathrooms scrubbed including grout, behind the toilet, inside the vanity and the exhaust vent. Every room gets baseboards, door frames, switch plates, closet shelves and rails, window sills and tracks, and hard floors washed after everything above them is done. Light fixtures and ceiling fans if they can be reached safely.

Will the clean meet my landlord's checklist?

It will if you give us the checklist. Landlords, agents and property managers hand out their own list, and it is never quite the same list twice: some care most about the oven, some about carpets, some about the inside of the windows.

Send us a photo of it when you book and we work from that document rather than from a general idea of clean. What we will not do is promise you a deposit back, because that decision belongs to the person holding it, not to us.

Move out cleaning or rental property cleaning?

The difference is who is paying and why. This page is for the person moving: the tenant handing keys back, the seller leaving a house, the buyer who wants a place cleaned before the truck arrives.

If you are the owner cleaning a unit between one tenant and the next, that is rental property cleaning, which is priced and scheduled around a lease gap rather than around your move. The work overlaps. The person we report to does not.

How long does a move out clean take?

Longer than the same house would take lived in, because everything gets opened. Bedroom count matters, bathroom count matters more, and the kitchen is the single biggest block of time, since inside the oven and inside the cabinets are both slow.

A one bedroom apartment is usually a half day. A three or four bedroom house is usually a full one. Book it for the day before the handover, not the morning of, so there is room to fix anything we find.

Should the property be empty before you clean?

Yes, and completely. Every hour spent working around boxes is an hour not spent on the parts the checklist is actually about, and a floor cleaned before furniture leaves gets dirty again on the way out. Utilities matter too.

We need water and power, and the lights on, because a closet or a cabinet interior cannot be cleaned properly in the dark. If the power is scheduled off on the day, tell us before we book.

What we cannot take away

We clean, we do not haul. If there are bags, boxes, a mattress, an old appliance or anything else left behind, that has to be arranged separately, because the transfer stations around this county are set up for residents with proof of address and some take cash or check only.

We will bag loose trash and put it where you tell us, but a van full of somebody else's furniture is a different service with a different truck. Tell us up front what is being left and we will tell you where it stands.

What a move in clean covers before you unpack

The parts you will never reach again once the boxes are in. Inside every cabinet, drawer and closet before anything goes in them. Inside the oven and the fridge before food arrives. Bathrooms done to your standard rather than the last person's. Floors washed last.
